Marriage Helper Coaching Services – Informed Consent and Client Agreement

Thank you for choosing Marriage Helper. This document outlines the terms and conditions for your participation, ensuring a safe, professional, and productive coaching relationship. By engaging in our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following terms.

1. Nature of the Coaching Relationship

Coaching at Marriage Helper is a professional, non-therapeutic partnership designed to provide support, guidance, and practical tools for your personal and relational growth. It is a collaborative process where your active participation is essential for success.

Coaching is not a substitute for licensed professional services. Our coaches are not licensed therapists, counselors, or medical professionals. We do not diagnose or treat mental health disorders, nor do we provide medical, legal, or financial advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, severe emotional distress, or any medical condition, we strongly recommend seeking help from a qualified professional immediately.

2. Client Rights and Responsibilities

  • You have the right to end coaching at any time, for any reason.
  • Any unused sessions will remain available to you as specified in your package terms.
  • You are responsible for implementing the strategies and tools provided by your coach.

3. Scheduling and Cancellation Policy

  • All coaching sessions must be scheduled in advance.
  • To cancel or reschedule a session, you must provide at least 48 hours’ notice
  • If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled session, it will be considered a used session. For example, if you purchased a 6-session package and cancel within the 48-hour window, your balance will be reduced to 5 sessions.

4. Expectations Outside of Sessions

Your coaching relationship is structured around scheduled sessions. To protect the time and focus of both coach and client:

  • Coaches will not provide ongoing text, email, or phone support outside of scheduled sessions, except for brief administrative communication (e.g., scheduling or technical issues).
  • Coaches may, at their discretion, provide limited resources or check-ins, but this is not guaranteed and should not be expected as part of the service.
  • All substantive coaching conversations will occur during your scheduled sessions.

5. Confidentiality

All information you share during your coaching sessions is confidential. However, there are legally mandated exceptions where a coach must break confidentiality. These include:

  • If we believe you may be a danger to yourself or others.
  • If we learn of any abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or disabled person.
  • If we are required to release information by a court order or subpoena.

6. Anti-Harassment Policy

Marriage Helper is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all clients and coaches. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, verbal abuse, threats, discriminatory language (based on race, religion, gender, etc.), intimidation, or any behavior that creates a hostile or unsafe environment.

If harassment occurs, your coaching services may be immediately terminated at the discretion of the coach or Marriage Helper staffNo refunds will be issued if services are stopped due to a violation of this policy.

7. Agreement

By purchasing or participating in Marriage Helper Coaching Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to all the terms outlined in this document.
