POLL: 69% of Americans Give Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Romance a Year or Less

  • 38% Give BENNIFER 6 Months or Less: 24% 3-6 Months, and 14% Give Them 90 Days or Less
  • 78% of Americans Believe Most Celebrity Marriages Doomed to Fail

(Los Angeles, CA—July 20, 2021) A new HarrisX/Marriage Helper poll exploring what Americans think about Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, and celebrity relationships reveals most believe the couple will not last more than a year. Results are from a survey conducted online from July 15-16, 2021, of 1,001 U.S, adults nationwide with a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

“Jennifer Lopez has struggled with commitment since her marriage to Marc Anthony, and at 51 years of age, this is unlikely to change. Fresh off of her four-year relationship with Alex Rodriguezwhich ended just two months agoit appears Lopez is chasing a false sense of nostalgia with Mr. Affleck without having taken the time to evaluate what went wrong with her previous relationships. Our research shows this is not a recipe for success. While I hope I’m wrong, the public is likely right about Bennifer. I give this relationship six months,” said Kimberly Holmes, co-host of Young & Holmes and CEO of Marriage Helper.

The poll was conducted for the launch of the new Marriage Helper Podcast YOUNG & HOLMES, whose flagship episode BENNIFER 2.0 details what has happened and where the relationship is going. YOUNG & HOLMES brings together veteran entertainment journalist Julius Young and relationship expert Kimberly Beam Holmes to offer a rare, behind-the-headlines breakdown of celebrity relationships.
